The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission’s Scudders Falls administration headquarters translates the character of its bridges into a collaborative workplace. The two-story, 34,000-square-foot building serves the organization responsible for maintaining and constructing bridges between New Jersey and Pennsylvania. USA Architects provided architectural expertise, while IEI Group, now part of Designblendz, delivered interior design and furniture services.

Steel beams, recycled glass-infused concrete floors, and rustic stone reflect the commission’s bridge-building heritage. Reception and waiting areas, meeting rooms, huddle spaces, workstations, offices, and break rooms accommodate daily operations and encourage collaboration. Outdoor eating and sitting areas offer additional places to gather.

Daylighting, sustainable materials and systems, and life-cycle cost considerations support the project’s LEED-focused design, bringing environmental responsibility into a workplace rooted in the commission’s mission.
