Laurel Street Garage
A seven-story mixed-use garage enhancing Fishtown’s urban fabric through design and community spaces.
Elite Sports Factory
Overview
Designblendz transformed an auto garage into Elite Sports Factory, a youth recreational sports center responding to the owner’s vision for an indoor facility serving Philadelphia’s Roxborough area.
The adaptive reuse renovation retained the building’s exterior structure and form, using its generous volume as a framework for recreation. A clerestory brought natural light inside while preserving solid ground-level walls suited to sports activities. A steel mezzanine and accessible lift expanded usable space in areas that did not require tall ceilings.
Basketball courts, batting ranges, a rope course, an esports room, and a standard gym support a varied mix of activities. Today, the facility welcomes birthday parties, tournaments, training camps, and local school practices, giving the former garage a new role as a neighborhood destination for sports and recreation.
