Nestled along the picturesque Hudson River in Edgewater, New Jersey, this residence underwent a remarkable renovation, culminating in a stunning modern aesthetic that not only met the specific needs of the homeowner but also maximized the breathtaking views of New York City.
The goal for Designblendz was to create a contemporary haven that blended seamlessly with its surroundings while providing an enhanced living experience. To achieve this, the entire interior of the home was meticulously gutted and redesigned to create a cohesive and functional space. The aim was to strike a delicate balance between modernity and functionality, catering to the unique needs of the homeowner.
One of the major challenges faced during the renovation was obtaining NJ DEP approval for the desired additions. Designblendz was responsible for navigating the regulatory process and as a result, a new guest bedroom, a sunroom, and a large deck with a hot tub were seamlessly integrated into the existing structure, enhancing the overall living experience and providing ample space for relaxation and entertainment.
A standout feature of the renovation was the ingenious alteration to the back facade of the house. The existing facade was demolished, making way for the introduction of steel columns and beams. This structural modification allowed for the installation of 14-foot floor-to-ceiling glazing, creating an unobstructed panoramic view of the Hudson River and the iconic New York City skyline beyond. This rejuvenating shift in atmosphere not only improved the quality of living but also created a harmonious interplay between the interior and exterior environments.
Throughout the renovation, the design team at Designblendz meticulously curated a modern aesthetic that harmonized with the contemporary vision of the homeowner. Sleek lines, minimalist finishes, and a neutral color palette were employed to create an elegant and timeless atmosphere.
