Garner, a dedicated design professional with nearly a decade of experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) field, joins the company to further enhance its mission of creating resilient and engaging spaces.
A Cum Laude graduate of 2015 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree and a minor in Construction Management, Garner brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective to the Designblendz team. Her creative and analytical training has fueled a passion for process-driven design, where every intention is thoroughly researched and represented at all stages. Garner’s approach is to consistently review and improve designs to achieve notably higher results, with a focus on creating spaces that are not only technically resilient but also evoke a strong sensory response from users.
Throughout her career, Garner has been driven by a vision of resiliency, a principle she has nurtured through extensive travel and research. She believes that it is the duty of AEC professionals to adapt and respond to innovations in construction, environmental changes, procurement limitations, new code implications, and evolving client goals. Garner has extensive experience in pushing these considerations through all project phases, with a primary focus on large-scale, new construction mixed-use design. Her work spans a broad range of project types, including single and multi-family residential, historical preservation, adaptive reuse, hospitality, and senior living.
In her previous roles, Garner has taken on increasing responsibilities for quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) at all project phases. She has assisted project managers with client management and contractual obligations, conducted building and accessibility code reviews, coordinated documentation, led the mentoring of new staff, and supported projects through the bidding and construction phases. Garner’s commitment to conceptualizing projects by hand, coupled with her thorough attention to 2D and 3D digital construction documentation methods, demonstrates her keen eye for detailing and assembly knowledge. This supports the broader goal of achieving engaging and resilient design results.
